              NOVITA' PER LA CURA DELLA SCHIENA: ESPERTI A CONFRONTO

Si è chiuso, in data odierna, il 37° Congresso Nazionale della Società Italiana di Chirurgia Vertebrale e Gruppo Italiano Scoliosi (SICV&GIS), Patrocinato dal SIO che dal 15 al 17 maggio ha visto circa seicento partecipanti. I quali, nel corso delle tre giornate hanno  affrontato quasi tutte le tematiche relative alle patologie della colonna vertebrale, come la scoliosi e le varie deformità che oggi si possono curare meglio anche negli anziani; le degenerazioni del rachide cervicale e lombosacrale.
Le nuove tecniche chirurgiche e nuovi materiali con i quali non solo si può curare meglio di prima la schiena, ma molte patologie si possono anche prevenire e meglio diagnosticare, questo ha spiegato il magnifico professor Bernardo Misaggi, presidente del congresso,
primario e direttore della Struttura Complessa di Chirurgia Vertebrale e Scoliosi dell'Istituto Ortopedico Gaetano Pini di Milano. Il quale è un centro di eccellenza e di riferimento a livello nazionale. Non a caso hanno partecipato al convegno molti dei migliori esperti internazionali come: il Professor Lawrence Lenke della Washington University Orthopedic Surgeons St. Loui che rappresenta, nel trattamento delle deformità, una delle massime autorità scientifiche a livello mondiale;
i francesi Mazda, Dubois e Le Huec; il tedesco Mayer; lo svizzero Marchesi e molti altri.
Grazie agli ortopedici e neurochirurghi italiani, europei ed americani si è raggiunto lo scopo che si era prefissato l'organizzazione, dando  l'opportunità del confronto sulle diverse metodiche di trattamento della patologia vertebrale che hanno avuto come motto: comunicazioni brevi e ampio spazio alla discussione.
Inoltre, per la prima volta, il Congresso ha messo a confronto ortopedici e neurochirurghi, anche se provengono da un iter specialistico molto differente, entrambe le figure professionali si occupano della diagnosi e del trattamento delle patologie vertebrali ed è giusto che collaborino tra loro per arrivare ad una uniformità nel trattamento della patologia vertebrale. In conclusione, possiamo affermare che molto interesse hanno riscontrato gli incontri relativi alle patologie degenerative lombo-sacrali e la tavola rotonda sulle implicazioni medico-legali; gli studi sperimentali e gli studi clinici con
le novità sul rachide cervicale, sulla scoliosi, sull'ipercifosi e i nuovi trattamenti chirurgici della scoliosi idiopatica dell'adulto; i trattamenti conservativi delle ipercifosi giovanili e le nuove modalità per curare le fratture vertebralie anche quelle pluriframmentarie, toraco-lombari.
